"Nothing shall be impossible unto you"

ahhhhh HELLO TRANSFER #5 WHERE DID YOU COME FROM??

well, I have at least 6 more weeks in the promised land of Drayton Valley with Sister Whiting and I am SO GRATEFUL for that.  I think I'll probably move back here after the mish in all honesty.

lots happened so here we go:

-we prayed for DV to  be humbled and oil prices plummeted
-Mellisa is on date for Feb28 and we're now teaching her husband and her son!
-we wore short sleeve shirts while tracting on Saturday  IT WAS +8
-we saw two moose
-one of the elders here was called to be assistant to the president and elders have been removed from DV, so now it's just Sister Whiting and I

so the first one is from a couple weeks ago, Sister Whiting and I were tracting in a particularly rich neighborhood (also just a fun fact, Drayton Valley has more millionaires per capita than any other place in Alberta) and people were being super prideful so we thought, "something needs to humble Drayton Valley!"  so we prayed that something big would happen here, and literally the next week, oil prices plummeted and thousands lost their jobs....talk about a mustard seed!
If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you. (Luke 17:6)
If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. (Matthew 17:20)

soooo it's kind of our fault everyone is loosing their jobs.  oops!

also we had a funny experience...we've been trying to receive more specific revelation for our investigators on what their exact needs are, and during studies on Friday  morning, I was reading back on some of my notes from stake conference in GP, I had written down the "recipe for the spirit" in the which one of the "ingredients" is hymns and prayer.  I thought about starting the lesson with Chaise that day with a hymn, but then thought, "no that's awkward" but then come to find out in comp study, Sister Whiting had the same thought come to her this morning and we were just like.....dang it we didn't want that revelation!  But if we don't act on the revelation we receive, Heavenly Father isn't going to give us anymore...so we did it and it wasn't too awkward and the lesson went pretty well even though our voices were all scratchy and our faces were bright red.  Lesson learned: fear God more than man!

TODAY IS THE DAY THAT GORD QUITS SMOKING FOREVER AND WE GIVE UP  SWEETS FOR 7 DAYS!!!
it's a 7 day program, we're so stoked it's going to be the best week ever.  we're going over for supper and then let the games begin!  We also made him some spiritual cigarettes- rolled up pieces of paper with power scriptures and quotes inside that he can read when he wants a smoke.  #familiesareforever #familiesarebetterthancigarettes #andlungcancer

10 And again, believe that ye must repent of your sins and forsake them, and humble yourselves before God; and ask in sincerity of heart that he would forgive you; and now, if you believe all these things see that ye do them.
11 And again I say unto you as I have said before, that as ye have come to the knowledge of the glory of God, or if ye have known of his goodness and have tasted of his love, and have received a remission of your sins, which causeth such exceedingly great joy in your souls, even so I would that ye should remember, and always retain in remembrance, the greatness of God, and your own nothingness, and his goodness and long-suffering towards you, unworthy creatures, and humble yourselves even in the depths of humility, calling on the name of the Lord daily, and standing steadfastly in the faith of that which is to come, which was spoken by the mouth of the angel.
12 And behold, I say unto you that if ye do this ye shall always rejoice, and be filled with the love of God, and always retain a remission of your sins; and ye shall grow in the knowledge of the glory of him that created you, or in the knowledge of that which is just and true."
We owe it all to Him.
Onward, ever onward.
